JANUARY 2010
The beginning of January brought real winter weather to Polmanter with snow and a lot of ice – very rare for this part of Cornwall.
The cold weather did not hold up the work on the new pitches which are being constructed in the old dog exercise field. Diggers have been hard at work since October making terraces for the new state of the art multi-serviced hard-standing pitches.
Dog owners will still have space to walk their dogs as a new field will be opened up behind the Sports Field exclusively as a Dog Exercise Field.
The new pitches will have stunning views out to sea and will, we are sure, be very much in demand. The pitches are 10 m wide with a hard-standing gravel area at least 6 x 10m and there will be grass between the terraces.
As this is a completely new field it has a new name, Rosewall, which, to match the other field names here, is named after a local tin mine. There is a good view of Rosewall Hill from some of the new pitches.
You can now book one of these pitches for holidays taken from Friday 2nd July onwards. Between 16th July and 29th August these pitches must be booked for a minimum of seven nights arriving and departing on Friday or Sunday only. Call our office on 01736 795640 for more information.
